By, or as if by (Saskatoon), 2023

By, or as if by (Saskatoon)

Installed from September 21 – 24 in downtown Saskatoon, SK as part of Nuit Blanche Saskatoon, 2023.

A site-responsive installation consisting of 9 wind-activated harps. The visually subtle components, articulated in the visual language of the city streets, were installed along a main street in the festival area to create a dynamic network of auditory experience.

This work is a continuation and evolution of Aeolian City (2022-23) first installed as part of the Nocturne: Art at Night festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is the 3rd installation of the work, and the first demonstration of it’s capacity to be installed in any geographic location with suitable street infrastructure to support it. Its new title anticipates, and facilitates, installation in future installations in other cities.
